Selling you pharmacy is not usually a quick process. And even if it was, it is not in your financial interest.
If it is in your plans to sell your pharmacy in 2023 you should start planning now. Here is why:
- You should get your pharmacy prepared to sell. Make sure you have you have all the financials required for a buyer to review along with other data such as Rx summaries and top drug reports. You will also need to stage the pharmacy, clear out clutter, paint, clean, etc.
- Meet with advisors. You will want to meet with your financial advisor, accountant and a consultant (like us) to determine how much you need to meet your goals of selling, if the pharmacy can be sold for that amount and what the final take home will be.
- Find a buyer – sometimes finding a buyer can take awhile. Once you find a buyer it will take 90-120 days to sell the pharmacy.
